Timpview High School Reviews

As a current student at Timpview, I'll have to agree with most of the reviews. The schools does have wonderful teachers with expertice in their feild. However, cliques are still very prominant. I don't agree that students refuse to go out of their way to include others > The exceptions are few, but there are still exceptions. All of the extracurricular atendees are pushed very hard and are very busy, but this does lead to great success in that aspect. I have to comment that the homework is time-consuming and that the attendance policy is restrictive, but I guess that doesn't matter to a school that is all about success. Students can get help at after school programs which is very convenient. I give this school a 3/5 for its negligence towards the student body and also for its outstanding staff and extracurriculars.

Aloha, I attended Timpview High in it's second year. I tried extremely hard to be accepted by joining clubs, participating in Student Government activities, Band and Choir. However, I never found a place there, so I dove into my studies, and enjoyed my teachers and was thankful for there instruction and acceptance. Timpview does have wonderful programs that many other schools aren't fortunate to have. Educationally, it's great!

Timpview, by far, is the best school in Provo, Utah. It offers many different activities like orchestra, band, football, soccer, swimming etc. that are far better than any other. The teachers are excellent. When I was forced to leave Timpview, the one thing that I would really miss was all of the great and talented teachers there are. Very clickish though. But, this also creates many different people who share your own interests. Timpview strives for excellence in many different ways, this includes not having 'D' grades and not allowing students into the school if they did not pass one of their classes in Middle School. The possibilities are endless. When you go to Timpview, you won't regret it. Go T-Birds!

I find that timpview is a very good school. It has well overall practices by the school. It excels in all aspects such as that of education, teachers, students, and sports. Many people have their own opinion but I know that this is a good school. I'm real glad that I have enrolled my daughter in this school. thumbs up all the way!

While the teachers are exceptional, the students are non- accepting of new ideas, styles, cultures or people. It is a close- knit society with a lack of diversity and the kids are not interested in venturing out of their own social group. If there is a back- up plan, take it. I would agree whole- heartedly with the very last review of page 2, it describes the environment of Timpview perfectly.

I agree with everyone on everything about Timpview... except for one thing... That school is very homework oriented. In most classes, Homework is higher percentage towards your grade than even the tests [HW-35%,Test-30% in most cases]. I just thought I'd voice that opinion of things. The dependance on homework makes it very hard for students who aren't good at the whole homework thing, and makes them suffer significantly.

As a former student of Timpview, I would like to state that the scholastic areas of this school are great, but the social aspects were lacking. The school was very clique oriented. Student government, sports, and other high profile activities were mostly ruled by the wealthy and 'popular' kids. Because of this, I felt discouraged from participating in extracurricular activites. I enjoyed my education and the AP classes that I took, but socially, this high school did not offer a good experience.

Timpview High is an awesome school. There are so many types of people that it's impossible to not find someone with your same interests. There are so many ways to become involved, and the student body is very friendly. The teachers are willing to work one on one with the students, and they are very good at making their point across. Timpview is a school that involves the community, and that gives Provo City a good name.

Timpview is a very safe school. Like any other high school, there are drugs and sex, but because of the prominant religion in the area, these things aren't mainstream. Timpview has a strong AP programs. Many of the faculty has been at Timpview since it's opening in 1977. Most of the teachers genuinely care that their students are actually learning the material and not just memorizing it. The students are generally nice, easygoing people. There is some snobbery however. Those from North Provo are generally more wealthy than those from South Provo, and that factor has been known to cause some division. But even with division, the school feels unified. Timpview is a place that is small enough that its easy to know everyone's name. The sports teams are very good, the football team won the 4A state title, and the girls basketball team got 2nd place at state.

Timpview is a great school. It has great academics and a wonderful sports program. The orchestra, choir and bands are exceptional. The kids think they are wonderful and rich. Most of them get along and they are willing to accept new people. Timpview ROCKS!

It's a good school educationally, but the kids are very conservative, and they only associate inbetween their social groups excluding anyone new. Otherwise there are a few teachers that are lazy and not dedicated but in Provo, I reccomend this as a good school educationally, at least better than any other in the city.
