A wildfire in Provo Canyon, Utah, was sparked by gunfire from police, the fire department said Sunday. Cooler weather and rain have helped contain the fire, but with the return of summer heat, the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Curry County Fire Department are warning that the fire risk in the state is high. On Monday, BLM issued a warning to recreational athletes to stay out of the area as crews continue to battle the fires. A wildfire that burned 16,588 acres near the Utah-Idaho border in a lightning strike burned 16,588 acres on October 19, according to fire officials.
